AARO Virtual Fall Conference Date Announcement - October 19-21, 2020

AARO would like to announce the dates of October 19-21, 2020, for the Fall 2020 Virtual Conference. All listed times are in Eastern Standard Time; be sure to convert to your local time zone when adding to your calendar. Resignation of Managing Director

It is with a heavy heart that we notify you of the resignation of Brent Jayes, thereby MeetingsonCue, as the managing director of the Association of Appraiser Regulatory Officials (AARO) effective July 31, 2020. Brent has been with AARO for the past seventeen years and has been an integral part of our association. Please join me in wishing Brent and his family well as they seek out new endeavors.

AARO Fall 2020 Conference Canceled

The AARO Board of Directors held a meeting on Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 am central time and voted to transition the 2020 Fall Conference from an in-person conference to a virtual meeting due to safety and travel concerns stemming from the Coronovirus. The conference was scheduled to be held at the Westin Washington DC City Center from October 16-19, 2020.

ASC Notice & Request for Public Comments

In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the ASC invites public comments on our intention to request the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval to renew an information collection request entitled “Collection and Transmission of Annual AMC Registry Fees.”

ASC 2019 Annual Report

The ASC's 2019 Annual Report is available and can be viewed here. It can also be found under the "Annual Report" subtab under the "About the ASC" tab. Due to the COVID-19 Health Emergency, and concerns of shipping and handling, the ASC is not making hard copies available this year.

ASC Notice of Funding

The Appraisal Subcommittee announced a notice of funding availability (NOFA) to State Appraiser Regulatory Agencies for a non-competitive grant assistance. Application deadlines are August 17, 2020 for the first round. Future deadlines will be December 31, 2020, March 31, 2021, and June 30, 2021.

ASC Grants Webinar

On April 29^th and 30^th, AARO was grateful to partner with Mark Abbott, Grants Director for the Appraisal Subcommittee, for an executive summary type introduction to the new ASC State Grants Program. Moderated by AARO’s Managing Director Brent Jayes, the Zoom presentations were observed by over 70 people from 36 different states and jurisdictions.

The accompanying PowerPoint slide deck is linked here. Both Zoom presentations were recorded and are available for viewing under the ‘Resources’ tab under the subpage public resources.
