AARO Cancels Spring 2020 Conference along with RTC and CSI Level II Courses.
The U.S. House Committee on Financial Services, "sent a letter to the Comptroller General of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), requesting a comprehensive study on the implementation of Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA) by the relevant federal agencies."
The AQB is livestreaming their Board Meeting today to discuss the current status of the Practical Applications of Real Estate Appraisal concept and they will also listen to comments about the proposed changes to the Real Estate Property Appraiser Qualifications Criteria. On January 7, 2020, David Bunton, from The Appraisal Foundation, sent letters to both the House and Senate for National Real Estate Appraiser Appreciation Day. The letters highlighted the growing concern over the safeguards put into place by the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA). The Appraisal Foundation requested a Government Accountability Office study.
The Appraisal Subcomittee has issued a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document on the matter of Temporary Waiver Authority. The FAQs can be viewed here.
