On June 4, 2021, Jim Park with the Appraisal Subcommittee notified the appraiser community of the loss of our dear friend, mentor, and co-worker Vicki Ledbetter Metcalf. AARO sends their condolences to Vicki's family and friends.
Jim Park wrote, "Vicki was the longest serving ASC staff member having started at the agency in 1991 when it was first stood up. She served many roles with the ASC, both informal and formal. She was our historian, mentor and friend. Not only did she serve as a Policy Manager; she also served as the Acting Executive Director for over two years. More recently and maybe most importantly, she helped me and many others better understand her perspective, as a black woman, the DE&I issues we are currently struggling with in the appraisal industry and society as a whole. I know some of you knew Vicki well and we will let everyone know how her family plans to move forward. In the meantime, her husband, Hollis, has asked for privacy, so please hold off on contacting him or Vicki’s family. As soon as we have more information we will share that as well. Please keep her husband Hollis and their family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time and may her memory be a blessing to all."
